Why I chose these sun-dried tomatoes

“There's something wonderful about the way we preserve food in Sicily. When summer gives us beautiful, ripe tomatoes, full of sweetness and flavour, drying them allows us to enjoy that taste long after the season has passed.

Our sun-dried tomatoes begin with naturally grown produce, cultivated by local farmers who understand the importance of respecting the land and harvesting at the right time.

As the tomatoes slowly dry under the sun, their flavour becomes richer, sweeter and more intense. It's such a simple process, yet the result is something truly special.

What I love most about these tomatoes is their versatility. Just a few can transform a slice of toasted bread, a simple plate of pasta or a fresh salad.

For me, they represent one of the most beautiful things about Sicilian food: making the most of what nature gives us, with patience, care and very little waste.”

These are not your usual sun-dried tomatoes
  • Naturally grown: Made with tomatoes cultivated with care, respecting the land and the natural growing season.
  • Supporting local farmers: Sourced from farmers who understand the importance of good ingredients and harvesting at the right time.
  • Traditionally sun-dried: Drying concentrates the tomatoes' natural sweetness, creating a rich, intense Mediterranean flavour.
  • Full of Mediterranean character: Seasoned with garlic, oregano, chilli and capers for a deliciously savoury finish.
  • Preserved in oil: Prepared with extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil to keep the tomatoes tender and full of flavour.
  • Simple, honest ingredients: A traditional way of preserving the wonderful flavours of summer.

These sun-dried tomatoes are proof that good food doesn't need to be complicated. Just naturally grown ingredients, a little patience and respect for the seasons.

How we use it in our family
  • As an antipasto: Served with crusty bread, pecorino cheese and a few Sicilian olives.
  • On toasted bread: Chopped and spooned over warm bruschetta with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
  • With pasta: Sliced and tossed through spaghetti with garlic, olive oil and fresh basil.
  • In focaccia or sandwiches: Layered with mozzarella, fresh rocket and a little olive oil.
  • In salads: Chopped and mixed with fresh tomatoes, olives and capers for a burst of Mediterranean flavour.

One little tip: finely chop a few sun-dried tomatoes and stir them into a simple tomato sauce. It's an easy way to add a lovely depth of flavour.
