This collaboration between Fiasconaro and Dolce&Gabbana brings Sicily’s flavours and colours together. The decorated tin makes it a Christmas gift with something to keep long after the last slice.
Inside the colourful tin, candied orange and lemon meet mandarin purée and Sicilian saffron. Together, they give this naturally leavened panettone its distinctive citrus character.
It started with Mario Fiasconaro’s small ice-cream shop in Castelbuono in 1953. His sons continued the family story, with pastry chef Nicola bringing Sicily’s flavours into the Italian panettone tradition.
Serve it simply, with a cup of tea, to enjoy the citrus and saffron. For dessert, add a little mascarpone cream and let everyone help themselves to a slice.
